These butcher block countertops are made in the USA by John Boos & Co. Red Oak is a pale, reddish brown, coarse-grained wood that's darker than Maple and lighter than Walnut. Edge-grain butcher blocks are constructed using wood strips that run the full length of the block, providing a clean look of continuity.
