The oil is absorbed into the wood fibers, and helps with water resistance and spill clean-up. John Boos recommends oiling this countertop to preserve beauty and durability. During installation, please note that an overhang of 8 inches or more (width), and 12 inches or more (length) must be stabilized with support.
