Founded in 1899 by Frank L. Sprague and William Carleton, Sprague & Carleton Furniture Company began in Keene, NH crafting sturdy maple rocking chairs and settees. By the 1920s, the company expanded its line to include hutches, tables, dry sinks, and other fine furniture pieces—always using solid American rock maple.

Sprague & Carleton earned a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, timeless designs, and heirloom-quality durability. Each piece was built with locally sourced maple, hand-finished for a warm, rich patina that only improves with age.

The Keene factory continued producing furniture for nearly nine decades until closing in 1988, making every surviving piece a rare slice of New England furniture history. Today, Sprague & Carleton furniture is prized by collectors and design enthusiasts for its authentic craftsmanship, mid-century charm, and lasting quality.

This collection celebrates the artistry of Sprague & Carleton, featuring vintage and rare pieces—from primitive farmhouse dry sinks to elegant maple hutches—each carrying the original Keene maker’s mark and a story over a century in the making.
